The current state of knowledge on the fungus weevils (Coleoptera: Anthribidae) of Lower and Upper Silesia is presented. On the basis of data from literature and gathered by authors, from Lower Silesia 19 species have been recorded until now, while from Upper Silesia 17 species. Three species ( Choragus horni, Ch. sheppardi, Pseudeuparius sepicola) are new for these regions.

This article attempts to address the specificities of the Silesia on the example of selected poems by contemporary female and male authors who feel connected to this corner in the center of Europe and searching for their own identity. The research methodology revolves around biographical threads related to the turbulent history of Silesia, which has shaped the destiny of these writers. The national aspects of Silesia’s historical past are reflected in the subject matter of the lyrical works presented. This paper answers the question about the alternatives to the European Union membership (and its consequences) conceptualised by the inhabitants of Lower Silesia. To achieve this goal, this text delivers and discusses the empirical data, both quantitative and qualitative, answering the sub-questions if and how their lives have changed as a result of the accession to the EU as well as what are the alternatives, namely: How would our lives have looked like if Poland had not joined the EU in 2004? The article is empirical at its heart. After many years of search, the only surviving copy of a collection of sermons with a chronicle (965– 1618), which was printed and published in Leipzig in 1619 by Wolfgang Silber, the parson from Greiffenberg, Lower Silesia, was discovered in 2016, within the international programme “The Silesian Cultural Heritage.” The first part of the article includes information on the life and creation of the sermon’s author and presents the historical and cultural background of the book, with references to the municipality and the church. The beginning of 2020 was associated with the appearance of the global coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). The spread of the epidemic caused the introduction of an epidemiological emergency in Poland in early March (on March 12). This resulted in reduced public transport, including regional rail transport. In Lower Silesia, this concerned regional and fast connections. The conducted analysis concerns regional connections and is based on exploration of the spatial and the quantitative aspect of these changes. This paper discusses the process of transformation of the (coal) mining heritage from the 1990s up to the present day. It draws attention to the development of new trends related to the conservation and documentation of that heritage.
